Where our information comes from
- The Home Depot’s own pages come first: the Return Policy, Price Match, Tool Rental and Truck Rental pages, store pages and the corporate newsroom.
- Reputable news and consumer coverage comes second, and it is credited in the article.
- Shopper and employee reports, for example from Reddit or deal forums, are used only when they add something the official pages don’t, and they are always labelled as reports rather than policy.
Prices, hours and policies that vary by store
Many Home Depot prices, rental rates and store hours are set locally. When a figure varies, we give the range or the starting price we verified, say what changes it, and explain how to get the exact number for your store.
Keeping guides current
Every article shows the date it was last updated. Time-sensitive pages, such as holiday hours, Black Friday and the monthly Kids Workshop, are re-checked on a schedule before each event. Policy pages are re-read against Home Depot’s official pages at least once a quarter.
