Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information homedepothelper.com (“Home Depot Helper”, “we”, “us”) collects when you visit, and how it is used.
Information we collect
- Server and security logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider and our content delivery network (Cloudflare) record technical data such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
- Comments. If you leave a comment, we store the name, email address and website you enter, plus your IP address and browser details to help detect spam. Your email address is never published. An anonymized string made from it (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to show your profile picture, if you have one.
- Contact form messages. If you use our contact form, we store your name, email address, subject and message, along with your IP address, in our website’s dashboard so we can read and answer it. We don’t add you to any mailing list.
Cookies
The site sets only functional cookies, for example to remember your name and email if you choose to save them when commenting. Site fonts are hosted on our own server, so loading a page doesn’t send your data to a font provider.
Analytics and advertising
If we add analytics or advertising services, they may use cookies or similar technologies to measure visits or show ads. We will update this policy to name each service and explain your choices before it goes live.
Embedded content
Articles may include embedded content, such as videos, from other websites. Embedded content behaves as if you visited the other website, which may collect data about you under its own privacy policy.
How long we keep data
Comments and their details are kept as long as the comment is published. Contact form messages are kept as long as they’re needed to handle your request. Server logs are kept for a limited period set by our providers.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, such as comments you’ve left. Depending on where you live, including California, you may have additional rights under local privacy law. We don’t sell personal information.
Children
This site is intended for adults and doesn’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We’ll update this page when our practices change, and the date of the latest change will be shown on the page.
